How often should you re-check AI brand mentions? Once a week is enough for most teams. Every two weeks is enough if you are not shipping page changes. Daily is justified for a short list of prompts you are actively editing against. The schedule is useless if you rewrite the prompt every time.
AI answers move. They do not move so fast that a dashboard refresh at 9am and 4pm teaches you something a Tuesday run would miss, unless you changed the page that morning and you are looking for that specific prompt.
A cadence you can defend
| Situation | How often | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You are watching, not editing | Every two weeks | Enough to see a drift. Cheap on attention |
| You ship an edit and need a before and after | Weekly, same weekday | Four points in a month |
| You are in the week you changed the target page | One extra run a few days later, then back to weekly | A single next-day run is a coin flip |
| You run 100 prompts daily "to be safe" | Stop | You will not read them, and prompt noise looks like insight |
In Bloomiro, a prompt group can auto-run daily, twice a week, weekly, or every two weeks, at 14:00 or 02:00 Europe/Stockholm. The app shows that slot in your timezone. You pick the models. The product note is the scheduled runs changelog.
What has to stay fixed
- The prompt text
- The engines you claim to compare
- The country, if the tool lets you set one
- The definition of a mention versus a citation
Change any of those and you start a new series. Label it. Do not paste it on the end of the old chart.
Failed runs stay in the log as failed. If you drop them, the weeks the provider broke will look like weeks you were invisible. Metrics.
How this connects to Google
Search Console is not on the same clock. A weekly AI run next to a 28-day query report is a sane pair. Do not expect Tuesday's AI mention to show up as clicks on Wednesday. Use the query report to choose which prompt is worth the weekly slot: the one where you already have impressions. Workflow.
Example from our own property, 90 days ending 22 September 2026: "what's a good tool to track Perplexity brand mentions" showed up with a click and a position in the 40s. That prompt deserves a recurring row. "Best AI search tool" does not, unless you enjoy watching publishers win.
A simple operating rule
- Twenty prompts, weekly, four engines you actually sell against.
- Read the runs that flipped: mentioned last week, missing this week, or the reverse.
- Open the cited URL on the flips only.
- Assign one task. Not one task per prompt.
- Re-read in four weeks before you declare the edit a success or a failure.
Engine-specific setup lives in the how-tos: Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Mode.
